Workers Of Kwara Hotels Stage Protest Over Unpaid Salaries

Workers of Kwara Hotels, on Thursday, paralyzed activities in the hotels over alleged unpaid seven months salaries and 18 months service charges.The workers of the facility, owned by the state government, locked the entrance of the hotels accusing the management of poor welfare.
The workers, who trooped out in large numbers during the protest, accused the management of Harmony Holdings and the state government of poor management of the hotels.
One of the top management staff of the hotels, MD Human Resource Manager, Salami Moshood, said they have nothing against the state government but the staff are angry and they desire immediate solution to their problems.
Also speaking, the Chairman of National Unions of Hotels and Personal Service Workers, Kwara chapter, Mohammed Ibrahim, lamented that the hotel is in bad condition.
He revealed that only 30 rooms were functional out of the 172 rooms in the hotels.
The staff explained that all efforts to resolve the issues proved abortive.
He called on Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq to quickly address their needs.
