Elon Musk Dissolves Twitter Board, Now Sole Director

Category: Tech News

Elon Musk, a multibillionaire entrepreneur, has disbanded Twitter’s board of directors, the social media firm he recently acquired.

He fired all nine members of the board, making him the sole director of the microblogging platform.

Earlier on Friday, Musk fired Parag Agrawal, Twitter’s CEO, Ned Segal, its chief financial officer, and Vijaya Gadde, its head of policy.

He accused them of deceiving him and Twitter’s investors over the volume of fictitious accounts on the social media site.

Following the conclusion of his $44 billion deal to purchase the firm on Friday last week, Musk assumed complete control of Twitter.

The Tesla CEO had publicly stated his plan to take the business private as soon as the acquisition was complete before the deal was consummated.

In addition to limiting censorship, Musk has stated that he wants to “fight” spam bots on Twitter, make the algorithms that decide how information is presented to users public, and stop the social media site from turning into an echo chamber for hate and division.
