Turkey-Syria Earthquake: Nigeria Sympathizes
Category: World News
President
Muhammadu Buhari
has extended heartfelt commiserations to the governments and people of Turkey
and Syria, and those who lost family and friends in the recent devastating
earthquake in the southern Turkish city of Gaziantep.
Recall that
more than 2,000 people were killed when an earthquake struck central Turkey
and north-west Syria, in one of the most powerful quakes in the area in at
least a century, while another powerful tremor hours later threatened to
overwhelm rescue efforts.

wished those injured a speedy recovery and assured that the prayers and
thoughts of Nigerians are with the many affected by this very bad disaster and
its aftershocks.

Nigeria is ready to provide its full support in any way possible,
Buhari
said.
This was disclosed in a statement by
Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina.
