Nigerian Doctors Practising In UK Now 11,000

Between February 2 to March 15, 2023, 162 Nigerian-trained doctors were licensed to practise in the UK.
It was also observed that 15 doctors were licensed to practice
in the UK in three days, from March 16 to March 18, 2023.
The report is according to the register of the General Medical Council of the UK. The GMC is a public body that maintains the official register of medical practitioners within the UK.
Healthcare workers in Nigeria are leaving to seek greener pastures due to poor pay, poor working conditions, poor welfare, insecurity, and lack of job satisfaction.
There is the current worry of being able to backfill as physicians retire or move out of the workforce in the country.
