Leviticus 5 Explained

Leviticus 5: 1, "If you are called to testify about something you have seen or that you know about, it is sinful to refuse to testify, and you will be punished for your sin.

Leviticus 5:2, Whenever you sin, you must admit your sin

Leviticus 5:4, Or suppose you make a foolish vow of any kind, whether it's purpose is for good or for bad. When you realize what you have done, you must admit your guilt.

Leviticus 5:5, When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin

Leviticus 5:6, Then you must ask for forgiveness of sin from God, after which you will be purified

It is also good to give sacrifice to the Lord for your forgiveness of sin.

The old testament has not been discarded, but some of it's doctrines we abolished by the new laws of God delivered by Jesus, such that you needn't kill animals or sprinkle blood around to appease God, but that money for that item you could have sacrificed or killed to appease God can be given as a token offering to God, seeking for the forgiveness of sins which you have confessed and purified of.

The offering is given to a church of God, just as in the old testament, the animals for sacrifice were given to the priests to perform the sacrifice to God.

Priests are the pastors, bishops, men of God, that we have today. They have spiritual jurisdiction to pray to God and seek for forgiveness and deliverance of a sinner. Though they themselves cannot forgive your sins, it's God who will forgive you when you have confessed your sins and are purified.

So, sin can be unintentional or intentional.

Intentional sins must also be forgiven after you have discovered it was sin

Leviticus 5:17, Supporting your sin by violating one of God's commandments. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin.
