Rivers Vigilantes Rescue Newborn Dumped In Refuse

A local vigilante group in Diobu area of Port Harcourt Local Government Council of Rivers State has saved a newborn baby abandoned among refuse dump in Mile 3 park area.
Diobu area is a volatile high density area of the State.
The chief security Officer (CSO) of the vigilante group, Godstiem Ihunwo, who broke the news through a Human Right Activist, Prince Wiro said the dying baby was rescued about 3 :00am while on routine patrol in the area.
Ihuwno said the fainty cry of the newborn, who is less than six-hour old with placenta on, led the security patrol men to the dump where they found her on a wrapper in the cold, vandalism quickly rescued her.
Narrating the story Ihunwo said: “About 3am this morning Friday morning 28th April 2023 while on routine patrol I discovered a new born baby which is less than 6 hours old; at the point of the discovery the baby was still wrapped with clothes and placenta.
“I rescued the child and immediately called a female nurse for urgent medical attention to be given to the baby, upon inspection by the nurse, the baby was discovered to be a female .
“I called Prince Wiro,a Human Rights Activist who immediately cake to my office and accompanied to Nkpolu Police station to make a formal compliant.”
