Kidnapped Catholic Priests Regain Their Freedom

The two Catholic priests kidnapped last weekend at Agbarha-Otor town, Ughelli North Council Area, Delta State, have regained their freedom.

Fr. Raphael Ogigbah, Parish Priest of St. Francis, Agbarha-Otor, Catholic Diocese of Warri and his friend, Fr. Kunav Chochos of the Schoenstartt Fathers, were kidnapped around 9pm last Saturday.

A senior priest who confirmed their release said they were freed yesterday afternoon, after spending five nights in the den of the kidnappers.

The duo have been reunited with the leadership of the Catholic Diocese of Warri.

Although the kidnappers had demanded N20 million, it was however, not clear if ransom was paid to secure their release.
