WWE Star Sara Lee’s Autopsy Report Confirms Death By Suicide
An autopsy has confirmed that former WWE star Sara Lee died by suicide.
Last October, it was announced the winner of the company’s Tough Enough competition in 2015 passed away at the age of 30. Now TMZ Sports have reported that, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office documents, the former combat star took her own life.
The death by suicide was all but confirmed when ‘letters of intent’ were found at the scene. Lee was also found with several bruises and abrasions on her body, which officials think may have occurred as a result of suffering from a fall while she was intoxicated.
Lee’s mother announced her daughter’s shock passing with an emotional statement last year. “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our Sarah Weston has gone to be with Jesus,” she began. “We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete. We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn.”
WWE released a statement which read: “WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of Sara Lee. As a former “Tough Enough” winner, Lee served as an inspiration to many in the sports-entertainment world. WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and fans.”
After overcoming a group of aspiring wrestlers to win tough Enough eight years ago, Lee was awarded a one-year contract with WWE. Things didn’t work out as planned and the grappler was released from the company in September 2016 before spending a brief stint on the independent circuit.
Just a day before her tragic death, Lee uploaded a post to Instagram in which she revealed she was battling with her health. Posting a snap in her bathroom gym, she said: “Celebrating finally being healthy enough to go to the gym 2 days in a row. First ever sinus infection kicked my butt #Saraselfie #gains.”
Lee is survived by her husband of five years and fellow wrestler Corey Weston and their three children – daughter Piper, aged five, Brady, three and a baby boy born in August 2021.
