The Commandments of God You MUST Keep To Be Successful

"If you …”obey all the commands of the Lord, follow His instructions in every detail. Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous.

Deuteronomy 5:1B, “Listen carefully, Israel (You reader). Hear the decrees and regulations I am giving you today (August 4, 2016), so you may learn them and obey them!”

Probably you don’t know before; remember ignorance is not an excuse in law. But if you don’t know before and you have never been found wanting, then today you are learning this.

1. You MUST not have any other god but me (You must not believe or put your trust in, or worship anything except God Almighty

2. You MUST not make for yourself an idol of any kind, or image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I the LORD your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods.

Don’t worship, don’t believe in, and don’t put your trust in any other thing, except God Almighty! If you do, God will destroy you, your success, your health, your pride, your family, and future, because he said, “I will not tolerate your affection for any other gods”

It is not that witch in your village that is after your life, they are not responsible for your predicaments, it is your disobedience that is responsible for your calamities.

“But I lavish unfailing love for thousand generations on those who love and obey my commands” Deuteronomy 5:10

So when you obey God’s commands, you are favored, when you put your whole trust in Him, He lavishes unfailing love on you.

Imagine someone in love with another person, particularly love between a man and a woman. Imagine what they would do for one another, not to talk of your heavenly father. Also imagine what a jealous husband or wife will do when their partner cheats on them, they can even take a life for it. The same way God can be so angry with us when we serve other gods than Him.

3. “Don’t misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse His name” Deuteronomy 5: 11

Don’t use God’s name to lie, cheat or dupe people. You may go free, but your punishment is ahead, you will not go scot-free.

4. Work for six days each week. That is your ordinary work, or your professional career work, must not be done for more than six days in a week. One day must be left aside to do the work of God. To rest. Your seventh day is a Sabbath day or rest dedicated to the LORD your God. (Deuteronomy 5: 13)

5. Honor your father and mother as the LORD your God commanded you. Then you will live long, full life in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Simply put, when you are successful, you must still honor your parents, if you don’t; you won’t live long and won’t enjoy your wealth for long. When you haven’t attain success yet, you must still honor your parents so that you can be successful and have a long life.

6. Don’t kill (Deuteronomy 5:17)

7. Don’t commit adultery

8. Don’t steal

9. Don’t testify falsely against your neighbor (don’t lie against your neighbor, don’t say what you know is not true about other people)

10. Don’t take other people’s wife, house, land, properties. Don’t take anything that belongs to other people. Don’t cheat people, don’t dupe people.

If you “obey all the commands of the LORD (stated above), follow His instructions in every detail. Stay in the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous.
