You Have Labored Enough; It's Your Reward Time (Why You Are Not Progressing)

Deuteronomy 1:6 “The Lord our God spoke unto us in Horeb, say, ye have dwelt long enough in this mount”

Meaning, where you are now... Your present condition, your current situation that makes you feel unpleasant, that causes you sorrow, that make you feel depressed, oppressed.’

It means you have stayed enough in that current/unpleasant situation- Deuteronomy 1:6B- “Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount (in this agony and pain).

What’s next?

If you have stayed long enough in a current situation, particularly unpleasant ones, then… “It is time to break camp and move on” Deuteronomy 1: 7 (NLT)

Now go to the hill country, the western foothills, the Niger, and coastal plain. Go to the land of Canaanites and Lebanon, and all the way to the great Euphrates River. (All of these places above are known to be rich lands, often described as “Land of milk and honey”.

And now because you have stayed in that unsatisfied and compromised position for a long time, the Bible is now saying that you should go and inherit this new position (a position of joy; happiness; riches, wealth, promotion, cars and houses etc)

“Go and occupy it” Deuteronomy 1: 8.

Conditions For you to enter this new position:

1. You must have listening hears to everyone (Deuteronomy 1:17A (Relate to everyone at their own level of relationship with you, be kind in dealing with people)

2. Be impartial in your judgment of people

3. Be perfectly fair in your decisions (Don’t be arrogant in decision making, consider others)

4. Relate to everyone (Poor and rich)

5. Don’t be afraid of anyone’s anger, for decision you make is God’s decision (Because you have kept and obeyed diligently 1-4 above), you have obeyed God’s commands and therefore you speak the heart of God

6. Don’t be afraid, don’t be discouraged. Because when you have obeyed all theses God’s commandments, just like you have obeyed all the laws of nation, you obey all the traffic rules, environment rules, moral rules, security rules, you don’t steal, you are not a corrupt government official etc, you are free like a bird, no police can arrest you, and if they do indiscriminately, you will be eventually freed because you have stayed on the truth.

The same way, because you have been faithful to the commands of God, you need not be afraid, nor discouraged about situations that may appear too heavy for you. Face it, stay through without complaining or grumbling, and you will triumph at the end of it.

But once you start complaining, grumbling, even with your visions and dream of the future, you refuse to stay through to the dreams, you doubt, you fret, you complain and confess negative things, then you sin against God. Because he has already told you, “Don’t be shocked or afraid” Deuteronomy 1:29 (NLT)

In all you do always remember, “The Lord your God is going ahead of you. He will fight for you” Deuteronomy 1: 29B (NLT).

So why weary? Why fear? Why doubt your dreams/visions about tomorrow just because of present predicaments?

Here are the things not letting you make progress

Your refusal to trust God, who goes before you looking for the best places, guiding you with a pillar of fire by night and pillar of cloud by day. .. Deuteronomy 1: 32 (NLT)

When the Lord heard your complaining He became angry, so He solemnly swore… Deuteronomy 34 (Reason why you are not making progress, because God is angry about your complaining, because you refused to trust Him and He turned His back against you.

If you have followed God completely He would have helped you

Way out of This Mess

1. Turn around, and go back (Deuteronomy 1:40A). Turn from your complaining, lack of trust, not being focused, indecisiveness, doubts, negative confessions

2. Confess your sins (Deuteronomy 1:41), say Lord I have sinned. Because if you fail to obey God and continue to sin, without asking for forgiveness, and try to achieve that goal, see Deuteronomy 1:42, “For I am not with you. If you go ahead” you are on your own!

When you have confessed your sins and promptly obey God’s commandments then you are ready to go. Deuteronomy 2:2, then at last the Lord said… “you have been wondering long enough, turn… now you must obey all His commandments. Deuteronomy 2: 25 “Beginning from today (August 1, 2016), I will make people throughout the earth terrified because of you (People will marvel at your greatness! When they hear reports about your (you fame, achievements), they will tremble and dread and fear.

Follow these thoroughly and your story will change positively.
