He had seven sons, 3 daughters, 7000 sheep, 3000 camels, 5000 teams of oxen and 500 female donkeys and employed many servants. (That is a classic example of a rich man).
His sons had feast (party) everyday of the week, each son chooses his own day to throw is own party where guests are entertained.
Because Job feared God so much, each time his sons threw a party, he goes to God to pray on their behalf, because he said it was possible, they could have sinned against God (Job 1:5)
Then one day during a meeting in heaven between God and the sons of men (just like a president or a head of an organization holds a cabinet meeting from time to time with his ministers or head of departments as the case may be, where each minister or head of departments will give account for his portfolio for the period of time)
In verse 7 of Job 1, God asked Satan, "Where have you come from?" And Satan answered the Lord, and said, "From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking down it"
What does this tell us?
Satan goes about watching and monitoring each one of us to see what we do, whether we do good or bad so that he can accuse us. Remember, the bible calls him the accuser of the righteous.
In verse 8: "Then the Lord asked Satan, 'Have you noticed my servant Job' He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless- a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil" Job 1:8 (That means God sees everything we do even our heart.)
Job 1: 9-11 "Satan replied to the Lord, 'yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! but reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!" (That means, Satan also sees everything and he's jealous of God's children)
So God permitted Satan to take away everything Job has but not to touch his life. In one single day Job lost his entire family, flocks of sheep, cattle and employees. But he refused to sin against God.
Job 1: 20-21 "Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to ground to worship. He said,? I came naked from my mother's womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away". Praise the name of the Lord!"
Praise God! The bible say in all of this Job sinned not nor charged God foolishly. If it were you what will you do? What have you lost; a car, job, house, money, that makes you grief. This man lost his entire empire in one single day but refused to sin against God; but instead he worshiped God
So in every circumstance, always praise God. You had an accident, lost your car, your things were stolen, you lost your job; but you didn't loose your life- praise God! Leave all situations to God, serve Him, praise Him, worship Him and you will be surprise at what He will do for you in return.
Job 1:22 "In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God". In all of these Job refused to sin against God.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, "In everything give thanks: for that is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you"
Isaiah 45:7 says, "I form the light, and create the darkness; I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things."
God bless you.
