Two farmers have been killed on their farmlands in the Yangtu Special Development Area in southern Taraba State.
The incident comes barely two days after the gruesome murder of 11 farmers in the same special development area.
The brutal incident, which is presently sending shockwaves through the community, happened in the early hours of Tuesday.
Former representative of Ussa Local Government Area, Habila Timothy, confirmed the distressing news in a sombre telephone interview with Daily Post.
The victims, from Kpambo village in Ussa, had ventured to their farmlands in Kwambai, a border town between the local government and the development area when they were attacked.
“As I speak to you, my people are in total disarray and lack direction. Women and children are crying, and it will soon be night,” Timothy lamented.
He stressed the urgent need for assistance to restore peace, expressing concerns about the safety of evacuation routes.
