Abducted UNILORIN Student Escapes From Kidnappers
An abducted 100-level student of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, has
regained freedom.
Moyosore Bright, a Zoology Department student at the University of Ilorin, was kidnapped around 2 pm on Friday but managed to regain consciousness in a distant bush, several kilometers away from Ilorin, at approximately 7 pm on the same day.
She had boarded a minibus known as "Korope" at the school terminus on the main campus, along with fellow students, intending to reach her hostel in the Tanke area, close to the institution.
According to a Sunday statement from the Police Public Relations Officer of the state command of the Nigeria Police Force, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, Moyosore had to find her way back to Ilorin when she regained consciousness in the bush. The police spokesperson mentioned that there were no signs of violence on the kidnapped student, and while her mobile handset remained intact, some items were stolen, including a gold chain, ATM cards, and N3,000 in cash.
The statement also noted that an investigation is underway to apprehend the individuals responsible for the incident. CP Victor Olaiya, the Commissioner of Police, assured the public that the command is committed to combating all forms of crimes and ensuring a secure environment for the people of Kwara.
