Driver Fatally Crushes Teacher To Death and Flees the Scene



A teacher named Okunola in Odeomu, Osun State, has tragically lost his life in a fatal accident.

While purchasing an item at the market, he met with a tragic fate as a car fatally struck him. Following the incident on Tuesday, the driver of the car purportedly fled the scene, prompting enraged residents to set the vehicle ablaze.

In a statement released on Wednesday by Kehinde Adeleke, the spokesperson for the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, it was mentioned that the victim had gone to the market to purchase cassava peels.

Adeleke additionally stated that, while attempting to board a motorcycle, the teacher was tragically struck and killed on the spot by a car that unexpectedly veered into the market. This incident triggered a strong reaction from the residents.

The statement continued, "The car in question was en route from Ibadan to Osogbo when the driver, experiencing a mechanical fault, lost control. The deceased was a teacher in a school located in the Obada Area of Odeomu."

"The deceased had purchased cassava peels at the Obada Market and was in the process of boarding a motorcycle when the car collided with him.

"Upon confirming the victim's demise, individuals in the vicinity promptly set the car on fire. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, and his current whereabouts remain unknown."
