The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has revealed that over the past week, it has identified at least 83 illegal refineries in the Niger Delta region. Additionally, as part of its ongoing efforts to combat crude oil theft, the NNPCL reported the discovery of 15 illegal pipeline connections within the same timeframe. As per a video accompanying the post, it was revealed that from January 6 to 12, a cumulative total of 211 cases of oil theft and vandalism were reported.
In a documentary shared on X, the NNPCL reiterated that between January 6 and 12, 2023, a total of 211 incidents of oil theft and vandalism were documented. The company further reported the discovery of 15 illegal pipeline connections during the same period.
