Suspected Kidnappers Kill Two Traditional Rulers in Ekiti

Gunmen, believed to be kidnappers, have fatally attacked two traditional rulers in Ekiti State. The monarchs were returning from a security meeting in Irele-Ekiti, traveling in a vehicle driven by one of their colleagues, the Alara of Ikole Ekiti. The incident occurred on Monday along a community in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The ambush resulted in the tragic demise of two traditional rulers, namely, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olushola, the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, and Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin, the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti. On the other hand, Oba Adebayo Fatoba, the Alara of Ara Ikole-Ekiti, managed to escape the scene.
In confirmation of the event, Michael Ogungbemi, the chairman of the Ajoni Local Council Development Area, stated that the gunmen made an attempt to abduct the three traditional rulers.
